February 2010 Activities] Reading Month focused on “Quality Education for All! Reading & Output

Hello, I am H, IT Division.

As we mentioned in the last article, we wrapped up last month’s SDGs activity, “Vaccine Contribution through Reuse of Secondhand Clothing,” with great success.

We’ve got a new person in charge for February! The lucky winner is Mr. N from the Diagnostics and Technology Development Team, chosen by a fair lottery draw.

This month, we focused on the fourth goal of the SDGs, “quality education for all.” Everyone was encouraged to read together!

The theme is “Select one book per person and share your impressions with each other during the activity presentation.”
In short, One of the great things about reading is that we can tap into the wisdom and experience of our predecessors without spending a fortune. We want to link this to educational activities to help us improve our ability to summarize the essence and communication skills by sharing our impressions with others so that they’ll want to read the book too.

The decision was based on the above considerations. It’s great!

The idea was to make “quality education for all” a personal mission, to learn from each other’s reading, and to share it with others. Of course, many of our staff members read a lot, but I’m not sure if they share much with each other.

It’s said that output is key to both reading and learning. By summarizing our impressions through this initiative, we hope to improve our ability to summarize and communicate with each other.

Here are the books that each student will be reading. Let’s get started on the presentation at the end of the month.
