Here’s what we got going on in March 2010: In March, we’re focusing on “Creating a Town that Lives on” and “Responsibility to Create and Use” as part of Eco Month! Let’s hear the results of the plastic bottle cap project!

Hello, this is H from the IT Division.

As part of our “Responsibility to Create and Responsibility to Use” initiative for March 2022, we’ve been collecting plastic bottle caps as part of the “Ecocap Movement” and sending them for recycling. Yesterday, we had a meeting to talk about how the campaign went over the first month.

Once again, the person in charge for March is Mr. O of the General Affairs Department.

March is called “Keichitsu” in the Japanese calendar, as it is the time when insects that have been hibernating in the ground begin to emerge under the warm spring sun.

However, it was still pretty cold, so it was still a long way from the hot season when people had lots of chances to drink bottled drinks.

Despite this, with everyone’s help, we managed to collect a lot of plastic bottle caps.

We collected a whopping 309 pieces, which almost filled the collection box that was provided!

Given that it was for a month, we figured about 10 pieces were collected per day. To be honest, this was a pleasant surprise. We’ll be sending the collected caps to the “Ecocap Movement.”

Thanks to all the staff for your help.

We’ll keep this campaign going in the future.

If there’s a way to repurpose something that would otherwise be discarded, I’d love to help, either as an individual or as a company, even if it’s just a small contribution.

Thanks again for sharing those great ideas.

In the annual raffle to decide who will be in charge next time, the Engineering Department won the draw. We’ll be sharing our goals for April and the next meeting’s target in the near future!
