SDGs活動報告

[Ongoing activities since June 2010] Promote paperless operations “to reduce paper consumption and ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns.

This month, we’ve made a slight change to our policy and will be doing activities that are really relevant to our business and that we can keep up over the long term. We’ll keep promoting the SDGs by tying them more closely to our business activities. In the past, we’ve been promoting them on a one-time basis.

This is why we’ll keep up the good work with the SDGs this month of June, which is all about “promoting paperless.”

It’s been about a month since we started going paperless, printing in color, or black and white. We’re happy to report the results as of June 29.

Number of sheets of paper used in May
Monochrome print minutes: 2,728 sheet
Color prints : 7,764 sheet
Total: 10,492 sheet
※Printing cost:64,295 yen (color: 8 yen/sheet, monochrome: 0.8 yen/sheet)

Number of sheets of paper used in June
Monochrome print minutes: 1,328 sheet
Color prints : 2,001 sheet
Total: 3,329 sheet
※Printing cost:17,070 yen

So, we managed to cut the monthly paper usage by 7,163 sheets, which is the equivalent of saving 47,225 yen. Of course, the amount might go up or down depending on what we’re working on at the time, but I think this is a great result of everyone being aware of how much paper we use and trying to use it as little as possible.

By 2030, we want to achieve sustainable management and efficient use of natural resources. We also want to significantly reduce the generation of waste by preventing, reducing, recycling, and reusing waste. This is in line with SDG Goal 12, which is about responsibility to create and responsibility to produce. The company is on track to meet these targets.

We went paperless with our own tablet application for building surveys, where many of our competitors brought in paper drawings. We will continue to be conscious of further paper reduction and continue to further reduce resources.
